We are excited to announce that applications are now open for awards in the following categories:

AWARD

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY – All applicants must be enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway School

Aviation Australia Female Aeroskills Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a female Aerospace Gateway to Industry School student in Year 12.

Aviation Australia Male Aeroskills Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a male Aerospace Gateway to Industry School student in Year 12.

AYAA Future Leader Aerospace Award

This award is for enthusiastic students in Year 10 or 11 that display a strong passion towards a topic in aviation or aerospace. Applicants DO NOT have to be studying an aerospace subject.

Griffith Aviation Female Bursary Award

This award is for an outstanding Aerospace Gateway to Industry School student that identifies as female and who has strong aspirations to attend university in 2021.

This bursary is to recognise a student’s enthusiasm, continued dedication to studies and will support them to achieve their full potential.

Griffith Aviation Indigenous Bursary Award 

This award is for an outstanding Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools student that identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and who has strong aspirations to attend university in 2021.

This bursary is to recognise a student’s enthusiasm, continued dedication to studies and will support them to achieve their full potential.

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots Award

This is an award is open to those students who can demonstrate their enthusiasm for flying and either have no previous flying instruction, or a no more than 10 flying hours.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age as at 30 November 2020 and there is no limit to the number of applications from each school.

Royal Aeronautical Society Award

An award for the highest standard of in-depth project and accompanying formal written report produced by a Year 12 student in the QCAA general subjects Aerospace Systems or Engineering (delivered in an aviation context).

Spirit of Boeing Award

This is a leadership award for leaders in the school community. Applicants DO NOT have to be studying an aerospace subject. The nomination is to be endorsed in writing by the Principal or Head of Department from the school.

TAE Aerospace Young Innovators Award

This award recognises an individual student, or student group, who have demonstrated their ability to think outside the box, presenting different and innovative approaches to the Aerospace field.

Year 10 GE Aviation Aerospace Award

This award is open to Year 10 students that have completed at least one semester of an Aerospace subject.

Year 11 QANTAS Quest Award

This award is open to Year 11 students that have completed at least one unit of Aerospace Systems, Engineering, Engineering Skills or Industrial Technology Skills. The student must demonstrate a quest for learning about aviation avionics, structures or mechanical engineering and aspire to become a qualified tradesperson in the aircraft industry.

Year 12 Airbus Aerospace Systems Award

This award is open to Year 12 students who have completed units 2 and 3 of Aerospace Systems and is currently enrolled in unit 4.

Teacher Excellence Award

The Aerospace Teacher Excellence is awarded to a teacher from one of the Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools.  This award recognises an outstanding commitment to teaching excellence in the field of aerospace education.

Applications close 16 September 2020.
