2020 AGISP Teacher Conference

The Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools Program hosted the annual Teachers’ Professional Development conference  on 13th and 14th February at Iona College, Lindum (Brisbane).

Built into the two-day conference we held workshops and sessions which included valuable insight into the Aerospace Systems assessments and endorsement; focus on systems thinking; drone and fix wing planning and payload deployment; wing building; Human Factors; Navigation; a reflection session on aerospace systems and structures and emerging technologies; and essential resource sharing opportunities between teachers and industry representatives.  We had industry demonstrations on site which included the introduction of Rocket STEM programs into schools; drone flying through LED gates as well as a flight simulator.

We also hosted an Industry Networking Event which allowed school representatives to mingle with our supporters and sponsors of the program, as well as hear the latest updates from Greg Mason, Chief Engineer at TAE Aerospace and the Paul Coughlin, Project Director at Brisbane Airport Corporation.

We would sincerely like to thank the industry representatives from Boeing Defence Australia, QCAA, Aviation Australia, PFi,  It’s Rocket Science, Banshee Frames, Next Level Racing, QUT, CASA and OzRunways

A special mention to the Aerospace Teachers from Iona College, Indooroopilly State High, Mueller College, Atherton State High and Aviation High for their valuable contribution to the conference workshops.
