The TAE Young Innovator Award recognises an individual student, or student group, who have demonstrated their ability to think outside the box, presenting different and innovative approaches to the Aerospace field. The winner of this award will receive an $800 EFTPOS card and trophy.
  • Requirements

    To be considered for this award applicants will be required to supply the following: 1. Written response by the student outlining why this Aeroskills related project or assignment is innovative. 2. Letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor that outlines 1) why the project is innovative, and 2) how the student collaborated with their classmates, teachers to develop and deliver their project. 3. Endorsement from the relevant Head of Department and/or Principal. 4. Additional artefacts or information to support the submission.
  • Judging

    When judging this category, the following attributes will be considered: CHALLENGES THE NORM — Sees alternative ways to view or define problems; is not constrained by the thoughts or approaches of others, THINKS EXPANSIVELY — Combines ideas in unique ways or makes connections between disparate ideas; explores different lines of thought; views situations from multiple perspectives; brainstorms multiple approaches/solutions, LEVERAGES DIVERSE RESOURCES — Draws upon multiple and diverse sources for ideas and inspiration, and IS INNOVATIVE — Is willing to experiment with innovative products, processes, and services formulation and implementation of innovative, pioneering ideas. Judging of all applications will be considered soon after, and if necessary, some applicants may be asked to make themselves available for interview at a later date. The successful applicant for this award will be selected by representatives from TAE Aerospace. The winner will be announced at the 2021 Aerospace Industry Education Awards ceremony on Wednesday 24 November 2021.
