    This award is open to Year 12 students enrolled at an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School and who have completed units 2 and 3 of Aerospace Systems and is currently enrolled in unit 4. Each of the finalists will receive $150 and a certificate recognising their achievement. The winner will receive a further $100 and a certificate recognising his or her achievement.
  • Requirements

    Selection criteria will include: 1. Consideration of the student results as per the QCAA Student Management System after IA3 confirmation. 2. Consideration of the student’s involvement in extra-curricular activities related to aerospace/aviation or STEM in general. Evidence of participation/involvement in these activities must be provided. 3. Student is also required to submit a one page (max 500 words) on 3 skills (example of skills provided below) that they have acquired either during the study of the subject Aerospace Systems and/or participation/involvement in extra-curricular activities that they see would be useful when pursing a STEM career. 4. Consideration of any copies of student work which schools may submit. 5. If necessary, contact by the judging committee with the school (teacher/student).

  • Judging

    Judging committee will provide advice regarding the delivery and assessment of Aerospace Systems as required: Judging on a student’s academic performance in the QCAA subject Aerospace Systems. Judging committee will review internal assessments IA1, IA2 and IA3, evidence of participation/involvement in extra-curricular activities and the one-page response on useful skills for a future STEM career submitted by the school. Schools must submit copies of student work and related evidence to assist the judging committee. The winner will be announced at the 2021 Aerospace Industry Education Awards ceremony on Wednesday 24 November 2021.
