    This award is for a year 12 student that can demonstrate a keen interest in becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) providing examples of involvement in ‘hands on’ projects and the personal qualities of a successful tradesperson.
  • Requirements

    This award is open to year 12 students enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. Each applicant must have good school attendance and have a sound achievement or higher in Mathematics, Science and Aerospace or Engineering-related subjects (such as Aerospace Systems, Industrial Technology Skills or Engineering Skills).
  • Judging

    The committee will review a student video presentation submitted by the applicant. Applicants are required to have a keen desire in becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Schools must submit a copy of the applicant’s latest student report, along with an attendance record and statement from the relevant Aerospace HOD or Principal supporting the student’s application for applications to be complete. It is expected that applicants will have a sound achievement or higher in Mathematics, Science and Aerospace or Engineering-related subjects (such as Aerospace Systems, Industrial Technology Skills or Engineering Skills).

  • A video presentation (using Vimeo or YouTube), prepared by the student, no longer than four minutes. In this video the student must explain why they aspire to become an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, can provide examples of their involvement in ‘hands on’ projects, and illustrates their personal qualities, which particularly indicate why they are a suitable recipient of the scholarship.
