• SCHOOL NOMINATIONS CLOSE 8am Monday 19th August 2024

    The aerospace industry celebrates the diversity that exists amongst its people. This award is intended to support the growth of this inclusive workforce by encouraging motivated students from a range of underrepresented groups that demonstrate an interest, and take steps to actively pursue, an education in aviation and/or aerospace. The winner’s bursary is to recognize a student’s enthusiasm and dedication to their studies and will support them to continue their journey towards an aerospace career.
  • Requirements

    This award is open to year 7 to 12 students enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. School representatives are asked to nominate a student that identifies with an underrepresented group, demonstrates a motivation for aviation and/or aerospace and they feel is deserving of recognition and encouragement to continue their education in the field of aviation and/or aerospace. The Principal, Deputy Principal or HOD signature is required to support the school nomination. There is no Aerospace subject requirement for this award.
  • Judging

    Applications will be judged by academic representatives of the Griffith Aviation Discipline. The committee will review a teacher written submission on behalf of the applicant.
  • This award is open to students enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School.

  • This award is open to year 7 to 12 students.
  • If a student is named as a finalist they will be invited to attend the award ceremony held in November in Brisbane. If a student is named as a winner they will be asked to accept their prize on stage and parts of the nomination may be announced.
  • A written statement of no more than 250 words responding to the following questions: 1. Which underrepresented group/s does the nominated student identify with and represent? 2. How does the student demonstrate their passion, enthusiasm, and motivation to continue on an aviation and/or aerospace pathway? 3. Tell us why you believe that this student is a worthy recipient of this award? * Please note that this written statement is not considered complete without the signature of a HOD, Deputy Principal or Principal.
