APPLICATIONS/NOMINATIONS CLOSE 8am Monday 19th August 2024
This award recognises a teaching professional who demonstrates initiative in their approach to aerospace education and inspires others through their ongoing contributions to the learning outcomes of both students and colleagues.
Requirements
This award recognises a teaching professional who demonstrates initiative in their approach to aerospace education and inspires others through their ongoing contributions to the learning outcomes of both students and colleagues. This award is open to all teachers employed at an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. A successful applicant must be available for travel in 2025. Should the successful applicant be unable to travel or attend for whatever reason at that time, the right is reserved for a replacement program or prize to be offered.
Judging
The judging committee will consist of representatives from Boeing Defence Australia, GE Aerospace and Northrop Grumman Australia. The committee will review the written application, along with the requested supporting response endorsing the application. Selection will be based on the extent to which applicants can demonstrate and substantiate: How their aerospace teaching practices and/or innovative programs foster students’ curiosity, imagination, and enthusiasm, as well as enhancing knowledge. How they disseminate or intend to disseminate, information about these teaching practices and programs to other teachers, where possible, to assist other teachers to improve their teaching of aerospace in Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools. How they will share the knowledge gained from the experience with other teachers in the Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools Program. How they attract a diverse range of students to the program. The award will be granted based on a comparative assessment of each applicant’s statement, recommendations, and substantiation.
