    This award recognises an individual, or student group, who demonstrate their ability to think outside the box, presenting different and innovative approaches to the field of aerospace.
  • Requirements

    This award is open to all students enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. There is no subject requirement for this award.
  • Judging

    The judging committee will consist of representatives of TAE Aerospace. The committee will review a student written response submitted by the applicant/s outlining why this aerospace-related project or assignment is innovative. Some applicants may be asked to make themselves available for an interview to finalise results. Schools must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, or mentor, along with a statement from the relevant Aerospace HOD, Deputy Principal or Principal supporting the student's application to assist the judging committee for the application to be complete. The following attributes will be considered by the judging committee: Challenges the Norm - Sees alternate ways to view or define problems; is not constrained by the thoughts or approaches of others, Thinks Expansively - Combines ideas in unique ways or makes connections between disparate ideas; explores different lines of thought; views situations from multiple perspectives; brainstorms multiple approaches/solutions; Leverages Diverse Resources - Draws upon multiple and diverse sources for ideas and inspiration, and Is Innovative - Is willing to experiment with innovative products, processes, and services formulation and implementation of innovative, pioneering ideas.
