2024 Yr 11 Aerospace Systems Award
STUDENT APPLICATIONS CLOSE 8am Monday 19th August 2024
This award is for a year 11 student that has achieved outstanding overall performance in the General Subject, Aerospace Systems, particularly in the areas of problem solving using critical thinking, teamwork, creativity and/or emotional intelligence, and commitment to the aerospace industry through extra-curricular activities.
Requirements
This award is open to year 11 students enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. Each applicant must have completed unit 1 of the General Subject, Aerospace Systems, and is currently enrolled in a subsequent unit of the same subject.
Judging
The judging committee will consist of Airbus team members. Applications will be judged on a combination of criteria including, Aerospace Systems academic results (FA2 and FA3), participation in extra-curricular activities, a student written submission and a teacher reference.

A one-page (max 500 word) student submission. The submission should outline the skills/learnings (example skills below) that they have acquired either during the subject Aerospace Systems course and/or participation in extra-curricular activities that they see would be useful when pursuing a STEM career. The response must include situation(s) experienced by the student where these skills/learnings were recognised. Example skills include complex problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, people management, coordinating with others, emotional intelligence, judgement, and decision making, active listening, negotiation.
