• STUDENT APPLICATIONS CLOSE 8am Monday 24th August 2026

    This award recognises a student in year 10 that can demonstrate their keen interest in aerospace by sharing a key learning from an aerospace-related unit of work. The winner will receive a $200 cash prize, a medallion and a certificate. Each remaining finalist will receive a $100 gift card and a certificate.  ALL finalists in this category will receive an invitation to attend a special one-day workshop tour and networking opportunity at GE Aerospace’s Brisbane airport facility. The tour includes a hands-on practical session in both the Avionics and Mechanical workshops as well as lunch with GE Aerospace team members.
  • Who can apply?

    This award is open to year 10 students enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. Applicants must have completed at least one aerospace-related unit of work this year. Subjects, or VET courses, that have contextualised aerospace across one unit qualify for this award. Examples include (but are not limited to) Aerospace, STEM, Engineering, Cert III in Aviation (Remote Pilot), Cert II Aircraft Line Maintenance, Cert II in Autonomous Technologies, Hospitality, Business, Industrial Technology and Design. Previous winners in any award category are ineligible to reapply for the same category.
  • Judging

    Please note that each completed application form, including any personal information provided, will be shared with judging committee representatives. The committee will review a written paragraph submitted by the applicant along with any supporting comments from a teacher.
