Young Innovator Award Application Form
STUDENT APPLICATIONS CLOSE 8am Monday 24th August 2026
This award recognises an individual, or student group, who demonstrates their ability to think outside the box, presenting different and innovative approaches to the field of aerospace. The winner, or winning group, will receive a total cash prize of $500, a medallion and a certificate. Each remaining finalist, or finalist group, will receive one $100 gift card and a certificate.
Who can apply?
This award is open to all students of any year level enrolled in an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. The student/s are not required to study any aerospace subject. Previous winners in any award category are ineligible to reapply for the same category.
Judging
Please note that each completed application form, including any personal information provided, will be shared with judging committee representatives. The committee will review a written submission by the applicant/s outlining why an aerospace related project or assignment is innovative along with any supporting comments from a teacher. The following attributes will be considered by the judging committee. o Pioneering – Using non-traditional thinking, processes, and methods to solve challenging aerospace problems. o Shared Success – Solutions that positively impact a broad set of stakeholders (people, customers, shareholders, suppliers and communities) and account for a wide range of human needs. o Doing the Right Thing – Appropriate aerospace safety and security rules and regulations are addressed and strong ethical standards applied. o Collaboration – A curiosity-based approach that considers multiple and diverse perspectives for ideas and inspiration.
