The Aerospace Industry Education Awards are offered exclusively to Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools.
ALL students enrolled at participating schools are eligible to apply for a category that suits them.
All finalists will receive a prize along with an invitation to attend a special ceremony in Brisbane
on Thursday 26th November 2026 where winners will be announced.

Aviation Enterprise Award
This award recognises a year 7 to 10 student that can demonstrate innovation and strategic thinking skills, problem solving skills and/or design techniques. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Young Aviator Award
This award recognises a student who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and motivation for a career as a pilot and has received minimal or no flying experience. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Young Innovator Award
This award recognises an individual, or student group, who demonstrates their ability to think outside the box, presenting different and innovative approaches to the field of aerospace. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Aerospace Discovery Award
This award recognises a student in year 10 that can demonstrate their keen interest in aerospace by sharing a key learning from an aerospace-related unit of work.

Aviation Trade Pathways Award
This award recognises a year 11 student that demonstrates a keen interest in exploring an aircraft maintenance engineer pathway. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Aerospace Systems Awards
This award recognises a student in both year 11 and 12 that is enrolled in the General Subject, Aerospace Systems and demonstrates a strong commitment to their studies both inside and outside the classroom; developing new skills and expanding their knowledge through involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteering, and/or industry engagement.

Spirit of Boeing Award
This award recognises a year 12 student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, is highly effective when working with groups and displays exceptional integrity when dealing with people. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Female Aerospace Scholarship
This award recognises a female year 12 student with a desire to further their aerospace education beyond high school in 2027. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Aeroskills Scholarship
This award recognises a year 12 student that can demonstrate a keen interest in becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and commence training in 2027. There is no subject requirement to apply for this award.

Empowering Pathways Award
This award recognises any staff member who actively challenges gender stereotypes, creates visible and meaningful opportunities for girls to engage with aviation, and helps students see themselves in aviation careers, including piloting, aircraft engineering, aircraft maintenance, avionics, flight operations and aviation-related STEM roles. This category is open for application or nomination.

Teacher Excellence Award
This award recognises a teaching professional who demonstrates initiative in their approach to aerospace education and inspires others through their ongoing contributions to the learning outcomes of both students and colleagues. This award is open to all teachers employed at an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School for application or nomination.
